The DofE program is designed to be a life-changing experience that encourages young people to take initiative and embrace adventure. With a focus on independent, teamwork, and community-oriented journeys, participants between the ages of 14 and 24 can complete four sections at the Bronze and Silver level, and five at the Gold level. Along the way, they'll have the chance to help their community and environment, improve their fitness, learn new skills, and work with others on a residential activity.
Ultimately, the DofE programme aims to foster fun, friendship, self-esteem, and confidence, while equipping young people with valuable skills for future success in work and life. These skills include resilience, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and drive – all of which are highly valued by top employers and can enhance CVs and applications for university and job opportunities.

If you want to up your calorie intake and reduce your weight, we suggest trying our Freeze dried meals which provide double the calories (regular size meals). Simply add hot water to the pouch, stir, seal, and let it hydrate for about 10 minutes (although some meals may take less time). These meals are also lightweight, making them perfect for backpacking. Trust us, anyone going for the Gold Award should definitely consider bringing freeze dried food.
