Description

Designed with a double wall, the Solo Stove Campfire is a natural convection inverted downgas gasifer stove.  The Campfire is the big daddy of the family and is great for small groups of 4+ people.

The air intake holes on the bottom of the stove channels air to the bottom of the fire while at the same time, channels warm air up between the walls of the stove. This burst of preheated oxygen feeding back into the firebox through the smaller holes at the top of the stove causes a secondary combustion. This allows the fire to burn more complete which is why there is very little smoke during full burn. A more efficient burn also means you'll use much less wood compared to an open camp fire. The Solo Stove Campfire doesn't just burn wood. It actually cooks the smoke out of the wood and then burns the smoke not once, but twice!

The Solo Stove Campfire also features a heat shield between the ash pan and the bottom of the stove. This heat shield protects the ground under the stove from scorching. The cooking ring's angled lip also increases efficiency by directing heat towards your pot minimizing heat loss. It also acts as a windshield while still allowing oxygen to flow inward. The Solo Stove Campfire is indeed one of the most efficient wood burning stoves you'll ever own.

Superb

Fantastic little stove / fire pit ! I got it keep in the back of my VW Camper and I’m really happy with its sizing and performance. Probably too big for backpacking but not impossible. My advice is not to overfill and use short lengths of wood (no more than 25cm). The heat radiation makes it an effective source of warmth for chilly days and no scorching of the ground was evident even after several hours of usage....all in all its a great product and worthy of its reputation

Awesome little stove

Well made and more robust than it looks, and works brilliantly. It's a really nice size, fits in a backpack still but big enough as a small fire pit. It really kick out some heat when it gets going and is easy to light, I highly recommend this fire.

Basecamp stove - great

I bought as a toy as I’ve got plenty of gas/ethanol/petrol/meths stoves. Well it works a treat. Robust, easy to set up and easy to fire up. Easy to refuel to. I plan to try it with charcoal too. The Campfire isn’t easily packable (unless you’ve got a mule to carry your kit) but the name says that pretty much. It’s good to cook on but regulating the fire (as will all fires) is achieved only by letting the fuel burn. It is pretty smokeless so keeps the neighbours happy. They don’t tell you that burning wood leaves your pots filthy with soot.. But it’s easily wiped off. A great, simple, robust stove that is really easy to use. Tip. Don’t put the handle of your frypan over the wood inlet gap. It will get hot. Service from Basecamp food was great. Solo stove central answered questions promptly.
