MSR Hubba NX Solo Tent

Bought tent for cape wrath trail in may as it's half the weight of my previous tent ,I bought it with the footprint and was given a £50 food voucher which I recently used . I bought this tent (MSR NX1)from Base Camp foods for a Pennine Way walk planned for early July. The price was very competitive and with the £50 food voucher it was the best value around and represented a great deal if you needed trekking food as well. I bought the tent for its low weight, small pack size and ease of pitching having read a number of reviews. There are lighter tents, but you would probably need to pay almost double to save a small amount of weight. Its well designed, very easy to put up and take down and the compression bag is perfect for stowage. The interior space is constrained, but I am 6'3" and this is the compromise that you get when saving weight. The flip side is that this tent will fit very easily into tight spaces. I purchased the additional footprint to preserve the base fabric which is not very heavy denier. I would prefer that they made this integral to the original, though the weight and size of the additional foot print is fairly insignificant and should make a difference to the life of the tent. Base camp foods very good with their communications and there delivery time was reasonable, considering they don't charge for delivery on any product. I was encouraged to see that they use repurposed packaging and no plastic packaging. I have since ordered other items and particularly like the Base camp rewards scheme, which saved me £10 on my last order. Their range of freeze dried foods and snacks is exceptional and competitively priced. I will definitely use again.
