This was lovely paired with a Naan, really tasty! Something well worth looking forward to after a day in the saddle!
The chilli has a fairly strong flavour which makes it partner well with plain tortillas, to stretch the packet a bit further and save some money.
This "Summit-to-eat" brand is the first dehydrated food company whose products I have actually looked to eating of an evening! My first one was the Vegetable Chipotle Chilli, and it remains my favourite from the other meals I had as well. The regular size meal was enough for me at the end of a 25km mountain hike, when my appetite tends to fall anyway, but this was extremely tasty, and at 628 kcal per meal, ensured that I would top up some of my calorie requirement at least. I've ordered quite a lot more!
Discovered dehydrated meals recently, for bikepacking. What a revelation! As a carnivore, the Vegetable Chipotle Chilli with Rice is not my favorite, but it is excellent. From the 2 vegan options I've tried (this and the 5 Bean Cassoulet) I prefer this one, as it feels a bit more substantial. Also, really happy with Base Camp Food so far. Excellent selection, seems like fair prices, and quick delivery.
Wow! Tried the Veg Chipotle today as didn't want to wait until I was on the WHW and realise I didn't like it. Was DEFINITELY NOT disappointed !! Avery full meal with plenty of spices flavour. I couldn't believe haw much there was! Don't bother with salt & pepper. A very satisfying meal. Definitely gets the thumbs up for the WHW.
Tip; make sure to put the right amount of boiling water in, and don't be a greedy piglet and start eating before the 8 minutes are up!!
