Real Turmat Bacalao

Real Turmat meals are the best dehydrated camping meals available, and in my opinion Bacalao one of the best of the best. Anyone who can make a super tasty fish based dehydrated meal is pretty special. Usually I wouldn't go near a fish based camping meal, but this is lovely. Really tasty cod with a spicy tomato based sauce. It's a very close call between Bacalao, reindeer stew and pulled pork!

Normally, I find freeze-dried camp meals hard to eat, not easily rehydrated and tasting as if they were prepared by a very poor cook. The Real Turmat fish preparations are a real exception, tasting like they were prepared by a real cook. The Bacalao didn't rehydrate completely but the taste of the sauce was compensation enough. The vacuum packing, dispensing with the need for a moisture-absorbing thing my be part of the success. I look forward to trying the RT chicken.

I have been using real turn at for a few months and unfortunately by far this is my least favourite..
A fairly pungent smell and a lasting taste
For a fish eater I wouldn’t purchase again
On a pro side as ever the portions are good

Great tasting meal. When you've pushed on and neglected to sort something to eat out these are a great option to fall back on.
I wasn't expecting it to taste as well as it did. Very impressed with the balance of flavours.
